The people who make it.
Davo is a small company living in two places at once. A founder and her people in Santa Barbara; three brothers and a family estate in the highlands of Jalisco.
Santa Barbara
Where it began
Laura Kronen
Laura founded Asuncion Spirits after losing her husband, out of a longing to create, to give, and to bring beauty into other people’s lives. Davo, its first spirit, carries his name.
She sets the direction of the brand and works with the distillery on the expressions. She was at the table for the first tasting of all four, which is where this photograph was taken.

The three brothers distill Davo at Hacienda Capellanía, and they are credited the way they work: as equals. All three do the same jobs and cover for one another, so no one of them is the lead.
They cook, ferment, distill and profile all four expressions. Davo credits them together, as partners in the craft rather than a service behind it.
Hacienda Capellanía
Owned and run by the Contreras family, in San José de Gracia. They grow the agave and make the tequila, and the estate is where every bottle of Davo begins and ends.
The estate
Three hundred acres of blue Weber agave, citrus groves and eucalyptus, with the distillery in the middle of it. NOM 1545.
The rest of the table.
Park Street
Importing and distribution. They are the reason a bottle made in Jalisco can reach a shelf in California.
Thoroughbred Spirits Group
Advisors on the business of getting a new spirit into the world, from route to market to the shape of the launch.
Flair Project
Craft cocktails and bar entertainment across Southern California. They curated and crafted Davo’s four signature cocktails, with a special thank you to Josue Figueroa.
Named for one man, made by a lot of people.
